Some people like it some people loath it. For some people models are a way of
reliving an idealised past, others prefer to portray true life; warts and all. To
my mind it is the years of accumulated dirt, surviving being assaulted by all the
elements can throw at you, along with the dents, patches and repairs that accrue
over time that all create character.
I've spent a considerable amount of time studying the various ways in which
different materials decay, rust or rot. As a museum conservator and restorer,
knowing how and why these things happen is crucial in preventing them from
happening. This kind of knowledge is equally valuable as a model maker when it
comes to artificially simulating such process on a model, and I've developed a
large array of techniques to simulate most kinds of weathering. From the nearly
new and well cared for to the totally derelict, I can cater for your needs.
So whether (no pun intended) you want to commission the construction of a model
in a weathered state, or you already have a 'finished' model you'd like making
look just that little bit more realistic get in touch.
